There is a lot involved in a consultation, read below to understand what is covered when you book with me-
Prior to fitting
Once you book an appointment, I will send you a questionnaire covering why you need a consultation, history of bits, dental, what to bring etc. This is so I can get a clear understanding of you and your horse before the fitting so we can make great use of our time.
At the fitting
I'll have a look inside your horses mouth, assessing any anatomy that may influence what bit suits them best. Sometimes we will see the horse go in its current Bit, otherwise I'll select a few different Bits for us to try based on your history and my findings.
At the fitting
As well as finding the right Bit, we will also have a look at the fit of your Bridle, the correct fit of the Bridle can often be overlooked. Whether it's making sure the buckles don't all bunch up or trying a different style (ie Micklem), it's all a part of the puzzle.
At the end
Once we have tried some options and found the bit you are both happiest in, I'll give you a summary of the consultation including what Bit's we tried, Anatomy findings, Bridle changes, future advice, what to expect etc.
The whole package
As well as a Bit and Bridle consultation, you'll walk away with a few goodies for the horses such as noseband tightness gauge, treats, etc as well some much needed goodies for the rider as a thanks for choosing me to put the welfare of your horse first.
I can then order in your Bit of choice through my stockists and have it to you within a couple of weeks or you can it source yourself.
Pricing
The time allocated to each fitting is 1.5 hours, each horse has a limit to how many different Bit's they can handle in one day so we want to take our time to pick the right Bits to try.
Consultations are $120, returning clients or stud visits may be discounted. 50% of payment must be payed at time of booking to confirm spot. If you're not 100% happy with the bit after the consultation, I offer ongoing support as a part of the package.
